Light Gray Gender Neutral Paint

Anyone have a color for a nursery they love? Thanks!

Re: Light Gray Gender Neutral Paint

  • I can't find the exact color we used, shoot!  Selecting a great grey color was really hard.  We painted it once and it turned out way too blue.  So we picked a grey with no blue undertones, and repainted.  It looks great now.  Soooo, I guess what I am saying is to stay away from blue-grey colors.

The color is called ashes and I'm almost positive the brand is Behr (its from home depot).  It took a long time to find the right gray but this one is perfect!
  • I've been searching for one as well because I don't want it to look to boring. We are pairing it with soft yellow and blue

  • DH is painting our little girl's nursery on Saturday. Originally, we were going to use the color scheme gray, yellow and white to be more gender neutral. Ultimately, I changed it to a light pink (Behr "Old Fashioned Pink") instead of the yellow for the accents. The gray we bought was Behr "Annonymous". I do agree try to stay away from the blue undertones. Hopefully, the color looks great the first time around and no blue undertones :)

  • We have a gray in our house from Benjamin Moore called "Horizon Gray". I love it, and it could be gender neutral for sure.

  • Sterling by Benjamin Moore or Behr is great.
  • We used Benjamin Moore "storm". From the affinity collection.

  • Big chill by Sherwin Williams is a white undertone gray. It even looks white in the jar but once it's on the wall it's definitely gray. Gray clouds by SW is a little darker than big chill and has a neutral undertone instead of blue, purple or green. If you have time, you can pick up samples, by a primed board or piece of sheet rock and test them out.

  • Benjamin Moore Revere Pewter
  • Ben moore silver chain.  A very neutral gray..not too dark or light either.
  • I know there are lots of options but...our family room is Behr's "Porpoise" and we LOVE it!  I would've totally used this in our Team Green nursery if DH wasn't dead set on having different colored rooms.
  • I just painted the room Thundercloud Gray by Benjamin Moore. I really love it and it was a recomendation from pottery barn based off of some bedding I had gotten.
