Re: Right or Left Handed

  • I'm left handed and my mom actually suspected at first that LO will be too but now she seems to be using her hands pretty equally so who knows.

  • I have not noticed a preference. Both DH and I are lefties though and that is what she will be seeing at home.

  • Dominance in hands usually isn't fully established until 3-5 years. I wouldn't be surprised if we ended up with one lefty as DH's brother is a lefty.

This. DS mainly uses his left hand now, but no one in our family is left handed so I would be a little surprised if he ended up left handed.

  • I have no clue. DD changes her 'dominant hand' daily. DS is 2 1/2 years old and only recently started showing preference on the right hand. My H's brother and grandmother are both lefty, but I have no idea if it's hereditary or what!

  • DH is a left and DD does tend to use it more than her right hand, but I think it is still to early to really tell.

  • WAY too early to tell for DD.  DS is almost 3 and my best guess is he'll be righty.  However, he's always sucked his left thumb.  He used to only kick with the left and throw with the right.  But now he can do it all.  I'm guessing righty for him mainly due to his eating/using utensils.

  • Our LO grabs left, rolls left and steps with his left foot when held up:) DH is a leftie, so we shall see.
  • I think we have a lefty..  No one in our family is a lefty  but she  grabs things with her left hand normally, and then will transfer it to her right..   Shes been starting to use her right hand a little  more lately though.

    Hopefully shell be ambidextrous.

This. DD1 is starting to use her left more, but she still switches on a daily basis, and she is 2.5.
