When will you do it? Or have you already? Planning on transitioning from bedsharing back to the crib next weekend. She likes to fall asleep with my hand on the side of her face. Thinking it would be a little easier transition if she had a lovey to snuggle. I just can't remember if a small lovey is safe anytime before a year old or not?

Re: Introducing a lovey
No answers, just a bit baffled by the lovey thing. I'm still at the stage, where how do you introduce one...how do you even know LO will like it?
To me it seemed like a lovey would need to be selected by the LO over time, and not by my introducing it.
IDK LO hasn't trended toward likeing anything,
i would just select one for her that I felt was safe and put it in bed with her each night.

So Elli has a woobie (blanket) that she loves, its small, light and knit. A friend made it for her. We also bought one of those little stuffed animals that their tummy lights up and she LOVES it! We put it to bed with her in her crib and she falls asleep while holding on to his foot! It's really cute.

LOL! Connor does the same thing! In the mornings though he likes to grab, hold, chew and snuggle the onesie he wore to bed as soon as I get him dressed. My kid is weird. Or maybe he is admiring the fresh scent of Gain, who knows.
I was looking at Angel Dear Blankies... but honestly, I'm probably going to skip it. She's STTN for the most part now, and starts with a paci in her mouth. If she's wide awake when I lay her down for naps, and seems like she might fuss, I put this yellow stuffed giraffe next to her and she rubs its face and falls asleep.
I'm not pushing the lovey because I want to avoid the toddler-age horror of having forgot or lost said object. If she chooses something, I can't really help that... but I'm not forcing anything on her. Right now I think her loveys are my boobs anyways lol
I got it at target. It's kind of knit. I put it to my face, pressed it tight and tried to breath, if breathing was easy, not at all difficult, I got it.
That was not how it worked in our house. One day DD1 just decided she wanted to sleep with a bear named Broccoli she had gotten at her first Christmas when she was like 2 months old, and kept with it. I think she started that at like a year? I like to avoid adding stuff into my kids bed. DD2 doesn't need anything in her crib, until she decides she will literally explode if it's (whatever it will be) not with her.

I love that someone else calls blankets, woobies. Woobie is Sam's nickname because for some reason, I decided that he was so snuggly and cute as a newborn, he was my woobie. Poor kid!
We have one of the small taggies blankets and he loves to sleep with it. I only let him for naps right now. Trying to decide when he can sleep overnight with it. At night I do let him have his Wubba Nub (the little animals with the pacifier attached). It seems safer to me, but who knows.
