What we did: After church we went to my parents' house and grilled out. The weather was perfect and the food was delicious!
What DH got: Coffee, K-cup reusable filters, a tie holder that says "Daddy's love TIES us together" with DS's(4.5) hand prints and DD's foot prints on back, and Tickets to a baseball game for our home team vs. our 2nd favorite team from the town we used to live in. I got him four he could invite a couple, he's going to invite his brother & SIL who live 5 hours north to come down for the weekend, which would be nice.
What my dad got: My two brother's and I went in together and got my dad a nice bundle from Omaha Steaks. Our dad's impossible to buy gifts for since whenever he wants something he just goes and buys it lol. He seemed very happy with the gift though.
We went to a birthday party for our niece and then to dinner at his dads afterwards.
I got DH a Bulova watch, something special for this first fathers day. My family all chipped in and got my dad a new BBQ, and DH and his father aren't close so they gave each other a handshake and a happy fathers day.
I was supposed to work but was called off this morning so I got to spend the day with my loves! This morning I made DH breakfast in bed (to note, I don't care for breakfast in bed, I much prefer it in the kitchen!) and we went to the farmer's market. Then, he did some things in the garage while baby and I napped! Now we've ordered pizza and are gonna watch a movie. Low key day, which is just our style!
As far as gifts go, I got DH a new pair of Converse shoes he's been wanting and I did a little photo shoot with DD with a sign that said "I love daddy" and I put a photo from it in a frame. I also used the free photo collage from Walgreens to make a collage of a bunch of DD and DH pics together.
DH spent Saturday night overnighting for work, so he got uninterrupted sleep at their crew house and slept in slightly-I think he liked that best lol. He worked all day, but had a layover in town around lunch, so we all went out for lunch. He got a hammock, a bag of cookies (his favourite kind), a nice beer, a card and I made roast beef for supper.
We don't really do parent gifts (usually just call), but my Dad is in town this year so I drove over with a card, a beer and a hug.
I got my dad a nice card from both the kids and I and paid him back the last $600 from the car repair bill he covered for us a couple months ago.
DH got a giant gun safe he's been asking for and he even paid for half of it. He also got to go to our local Sears store which is closing and has all their tools on sale and got to get some new tools. He didn't really spend any time with the kids even though we left Portland, OR super early this morning so we would be home in time for him to see them. He just stayed in the garage & played with his new safe and ignored us.
