My son is 2 1/2. He has just recently started having trouble pooping. He will say it hurts and will shake or squat down. It started after having my DD 3 weeks ago. It has happened 3 times. His diet hasn't changed. I feel terrible!!! I hate that its hurting him. Any suggestions???
Re: 2year old pooping issue
Are his poopies hard? Is he constipated?
If they seem hard, maybe give him a little prune juice each day and see if that helps?
If the stool seems normal, then I don't know...I would probably take a look at his hole area and see if things look normal, make sure he doesn't have any hems or something like that.
They aren't hard but not as soft as usual. His hole area is pretty irritated. I put vasoline on it. I'm just gonna increase his veggie intake and give him some juice. It all started after we came home from the hospital.
Hmm, sounds like he might be straining. Yeah, I would give him some prune juice and keep his hole area soothed with some A&D, and maybe if it doesn't improve in a few days, then call the doc.
I thought it might be an attention thing since you just came home, but if his hole looks irritated, clearly it's something real.
Well we've been home 3 weeks and this is the 3rd time its happened.
We also use miralax.
