SS1's graduation celebration was a blended family success. SSs' mother and grandmother arrived the night before and left the morning after.
We had a great family dinner for the sake of SS1. BM and her mother sat at one end with the boys as a buffer from our other guests. It was the ideal seating arrangement.
BM thanked me for taking care of the boys. I really wanted to say so much more but I just said "you are welcome" and I walked away.
As for a tiny bit of snarkiness: her dress was inappropriate for a high school graduation. Too tight, too much cleavage. Too much 80s hair. I really don't know what DH saw in her. She is so different from me, so different than his family.
DH said he was so proud of me for going to the dinner. DD was only 4 days old. I nursed in the restaurant bathroom. Somehow managed to get into a non-maternity dress that didn't look awful and miraculously managed to get my wedding and engagement rings on for the night. There was no way I was going to miss it. I earned the right to be there as a proud parent.

And good job holding your tongue for someone else's betterment. I just smile 'Hmm...' whevener I am faced with that kind of situation.
Glad it went well for SS's sake.
