Colic Survivors

Are there any colic survivors around this board? If so, how are you and your babies doing these days? Although it was a few months ago now, I still feel slightly traumatized by how my son cried around the clock for the first three months of his life. It was the hardest thing I have dealt with, even though he is fine though high maintenance now. The thought of sleep training or anything that causes excessive crying freaks me out. I'm sure my memories will fade with time, but it was just really tough.

    I know what you mean about anxiety about having them cry for hours again. Everyone thought I was exaggerating at first because they usually only saw him at church which he would sleep through the whole time. One weekend, DH was gone, and I stayed at my parents, and my mom was like, "okay, now I see what you mean." I was lucky enough that DS would sleep at night. There is really only one night I remember him being up crying, and that was after his 2 month shots. DS inconsistently sttn right now, so unless something changes, I'm not even going to think about sleep training. We had some sleep regression at 4 months, but I would just nurse him for like 5 min and he would fall right back to sleep. I know it's a little bit easier if you're a nursing mom to just give them that little bit of comfort so they'll fall back asleep, but I don't know what you do if they are formula fed. I wouldn't wish colic on my worst enemy. My older brother was the same way, and when he was only 4 months old, my mom got pregnant with me. My brother had colic for nearly six months, and then he started walking at ten months. I seriously don't know how she did it, and she went on to have two more!
    Me: unexplained infertility - annovulatory DH: testicular cancer survivor!! TTC since June 2009 BFP May 11, 2012 EDD January 24, 2013 June 1, 2012 - first u/s, heartbeat 124 BPM!! June 22, 2012 - heard the heartbeat 9w1d 181 BPM!! 24 hours of labor, 4 1/2 hours of pushing, and IT'S A BOY! Welcome to the world my miracle, we prayed and prayed for you, and we can't believe you're here!

    I totally get where you are coming from my LO was colic and has acid reflux... I felt like all he did was cry and wouldn't sleep unless being held or in the swing.. The colic has gone but now he is teething or his teeth are shifting because he is crabby almost all day... I don't think it will ever end. We finally are just getting him in a night routine and sleeping in his rock and play for most of the night so that is HUGE so the thought of having him put himself to sleep or transitioning to the crib wants to make me scream and crawl under a rock and hide haha
