So this is my first month ttc and I'm trying to get the timing right...hubby and I have had sex five days leading up to the day I had a positive opk test. Do Ihave decent chances of cconceiving this month? We did not have sex after my positive opk test. Any help would be appreciated! Trying not to get my hopes up too much this first month! :
Re: ttc month 1
DH and I had perfectly timed sex for eight months until we got pregnant. Some people have perfectly timed sex for years and don't get pregnant. Some people have perfectly time sex once and get pregnant. So really, anything is possible.
This. My advice would be to lurk over on the TTGP board. Read the newbie link, read "Taking Charge of Your Fertility", begin charting your temps, and like I said, lurk over there. When you feel comfortable post an intro. GL!
OPKs only predict when your body is gearing up to ovulate, not when it actually has. They typically give you a 24-48 hour notice. Every body is different, however, and if you did have sex during your fertile window PPs are right, you have a 20% chance. It can take a perfectly healthy couple a year to conceive.
Good luck!

I'm mostly a lurker but I recommend checking out the Trying to Get Pregnant forum. A lot of great information over there. What I've learned from the ladies on TTGP is that it can take a healthy couple up to a year to get pregnant, there is a 20% chance of conceiving when sex is timed right, and that OPKs alone aren't the best option for predicting ovulation - most recommend charting your basal body temperature to confirm O.
Some people are lucky and conceive right away, for others it takes a while. Everyone is different. Hope for the best, but prepare for the possibility that this could take longer than you hope.
Best of luck!
