Why oh why do we have 4 remotes for our tv? I have to use 3 of them to be able to navigate this byzantine conduit of circuitry that is our television, plus sometimes I have to add the keyboard, a mouse, or an Xbox controller.
I've been up with DS since 545, and I sat on the stupid remotes and have no idea which buttons were pushed or how to make the tv work now. I just want to watch some HGTV!
I can never divorce DH. What if the internet goes down??
Who can relate?
Re: 4 remotes
I can totally relate...
My ex is an IT genius. We didn't have cable or satellite, but instead had our computer hooked up to watch stuff (shows and movies). It had a Blue Ray player installed as well as software to play stuff directly from the computer.
We didn't have a TV, we had a projector with a home built 8' x 4' screen.
The lights were on remote as well.
If he wasn't around I had to get DD to turn it on for me. Everything was actually on ONE remote, but I just couldn't figure it out. He also had the XBox and Game Cube set up on it as well.
We eventually bought a TV and PS3 for the bedroom. I just couldn't understand how to use the console remote to watch something on the TV. I would usually give up and read instead. Lol.
I didn't know we lived in the same house at some point! I read a lot.
Right there with ya.
We have only 2 remotes for the TV but if we want to watch a movie, we have to add in the stupid PS3 controller.
One remote is for the Directv, which I can manage how to work it if I mess it up but Heaven forbid if I mess up the receiver remote (which I did yesterday). That remote has a million buttons and I only know how to use the buttons that change the TV to turn on the PS3 to watch a movie and the volume buttons.

I'm the techie in our house. I got a universal remote to work everything
. Logitech remotes have an additional piece you can buy that allows the PS3 to receive infrared signals so it works for the PS3 and since the Xbox already uses infrared, there's one to control them all
.
We don't have cable and use Netflix and Hulu to watch everything so we just use the gaming consoles (mainly the PS3). I used to have a computer hooked up but once we got Hulu we didn't need it really.
