Prior to getting pregnant I had been doing CF for about 6 months, but athletic all of my life. My OB just says that if I still feel like I can do it then DO it and so I've just decreased some weights and have altered some workouts because the belly just gets in the way nowadays (25wks4dats).
Anyway, there is another pregnant CFer at the gym, probably around 28 weeks. The other day the workout included a 1 mile run. I participated, obviously my time was pathetic compared to per pregnancy and I never like broke out into a sprint or anything - BUT the other pregnant girl chose to row instead of completing the run. So my trainer ended up asking me if I was still allowed to run?!? I have no idea why I wouldn't be allowed to.. Unless it caused me severe discomfort? Anyway.. I was just wondering if anyone was given a "stop" date when it comes to running?
Re: Pregnancy fitness
I think the reason she may have chosen rowing over running is because of the impact. For some women, running just isn't comfortable later in pregnancy, primarily bladder or joint discomfort. But its not dangerous. If you feel good, keep running!
One question - are you still doing box jumps? I am but wondering when I should stop. I switched from double unders to singles already but am still jumping
my ob said not to do it either but I ignored that. Check out crossfitmom.com. It will tell u everything u need to know about scaling and modifying. Basically just slow down and pace yourself so you don't get overheated or out of breath. Drop the weights a bit, no 1 rep maxes or max efforts. Good luck!
