Babies: 9 - 12 Months

Table food ideas

My LOs are 9 months old and I need ideas on what I can feed them.  They are on stage 2 foods right now and I try feeding them puffs.  I've tried stage 3 foods that have a little bit more texture, but they refuse to eat it. Once they get the hang of it, what do you feed your LOs? I don't want to feed them out of a jar the entire time. TIA!

Re: Table food ideas

  • I didn't like the ingredients in the puffs, but I'm a little crunchy when it comes to baby food.  Anyhow we feed the following table food to our 9 mo old:

    Cod Fish

    Salmon Fish

    Chicken

Beef (We've done steak and ground beef)

    Pork Tenderloin

    Squash - Roasted

    Avacodo

    Sweet Potatoes

    Carrots - Roasted

    Green Beans

hmm probably more but that's the jest of it.

As much as possible, whatever I'm eating.  For example, if I'm eating chicken or fish, I'll pick out pieces from under the skin that don't have as much seasoning.  Or I might rinse off the food to reduce the seasoning/condiments.
  • Anything I'm eating. He had tuna salad on pita bread for lunch today!

  • I feed her pretty much what I eat. Lots of diced fruit, ripped up pieces of deli meat & cheese. I do make homemade teething biscuits (Sweet Pot. ones, and Banana ones) as well as some special purees (she loves turkey & carrots pureed, then rice mixed in).

She eats chicken & mashed potatoes when we have that for dinner. She'll have some taco meat when we eat that. She enjoys my sweet potato vegetable burgers.

I just dice up what we're eating or leftovers that otherwise would get wasted. She's easy to please.

  • She eats what we eat and has for a couple months.  Occasionally I supplement with a puree, but generally I just cut up what we're having.  She had guacamole for the first time last night and that was a big hit!

  • We still do purees, cheerios, tiny bits of cheese, and bread.  DD still doesn't have any teeth so I don't feel like I can give her much else.
