She has been having pooping issues for about a week and a half and then hadn't actually pooped at all since Monday night.
I tried prune and pear juices, warm baths with tummy massages, moving the legs back and forth and having her bounce around. Nothing worked. I called pedi and she said I could get a pedi liquid suppository and use half of it. I did and I thought it would just give her diarrhea. Nope it was forcing her to poop a giant rock size poop out of her. It took over an hour of screaming and crying out in pain. Finally I took her diaper off and as she was trying to get it out I had to baisically help her.
It was the most horrific thing I have expereinced as a parent. Holding my infant while she screamed and shook bc she was in so much pain. My toddler just looked on in horror and I think is just as traumatized. She cheered when the poop finally came out!
I am so exhausted.
Re: I hate baby constipation (possible tmi)
Me too. It's much easier with strangers and or adults.
For prevention, I mix prunes in with other fruits or yogurt and I mix spinach in with other veggies. Both are really helpful and I don't give full strength unless we've skipped a poopin day.
