So you all know my friend who is naming her DD based on Twilight? Well, she bashed the Nose Frida (eeewwww, baby snot; wait until she pukes in your mouth, k?) in a post saying she'd registered at BRU. Commence registry stalking. I've never seen such an expensive registry! They HAVE brand new baby furniture but registered for another set costing $1500. They also registered for a second set of bedding. They've also registered for 2 Britax car seats (1 in a travel system) and 1 Chicco car seat. They have 2 infant seats currently. They really don't need 5 car seats. She will be a SAHM so various babysitters aren't in the picture. There's hardly anything useful on the registry. It's car seats, clothes, and furniture.
I'm drinking so being judgey. I'm OK with that. You can judge me back
ETA: I added on to the title and spilled a secret a little ways down. Poppy would flip and tell me I made the wrong choice...
Re: Judging a registry - and a dirty little secret
I usually keep the judgements in my head. Very rarely will I voice them unless something is unsafe or just too ridiculous.
She's very entitled. She decided she needed "me time" before the baby came so she quit her job as soon as she hit the third trimester. There are no health issues and such that would require that, before anyone asks. She prides herself on being a "trophy wife". She really doesn't meet my definition of trophy wife for lots of reasons but...
I only voice my judgements to my husband (who dislikes this girl and her husband - he kind of asked me to marry him while I was engaged to DH and 3 months before he proposed to his 'trophy wife') and to you guys.
Her's was a registry I REALLY was looking forward to stalking!
Whaaaaat??? That is crazy!
Normally I wouldn't judge for putting big ticket items on a registry. I assume they put it on there to be able to use the completion coupon or have family that want to go in together and get it... BUT since she already has this stuff and put crazy amounts on it I would totally judge.

Yah... He was my best friend and roommate for close to 3 years. I never knew he had a thing for me. I'd dated his brother, after all. NOTHING ever happened while we lived together. NOTHING ever happened between us EVER. I was floored when this all happened because I had no idea.
The first summer in AZ, I had to go back to MO to work because I couldn't find work out here and we needed money. DH stayed back in AZ to work. My friend and I had hung out and had a few drinks. Afterwards, he spilled his guts saying he loved me, had always loved me, and wanted marry me and how we'd make the distance thing work until I graduated. He loved how driven and career oriented I was. We'd have lots of money together, a great life, yada yada. He'd just gotten a job as a physician's assistant with a big neurosurgeon in town. I let him down nicely saying I knew in his heart of hearts he loved his now-wife and we'd missed our boat. However, we have only spoken once since then.
TBdamnH, I almost regret not taking him up on it. I had a crush on him and we were a good match. But, looking back, I think he really DID want a SAHwife and mother. I couldn't be that. I was also SO sucked in by DH and his promises (that he's only now keeping) and I couldn't give up DSS. I knew I was best for DSS.
There's my dirty little secret.
ETA: Friend's husband, my ex roommate and friend, is one of the most chivalrous, kind, selfless people I know. *sigh* Also, DH knows about it. His wife does not. I didn't have the heart to tell her. I slipped it to DH one night when he was being a jackass.
Lol it would have been an interesting story! However, I'd seen him date successful women, end it, and go back to his current wife at least 5 times. I think he wasn't sure what he wanted.
I'd always heard from his wife he was good in bed... He is a good looking guy, too. His wife isn't. She tanned too much and looks 10 years older than she is.
Aaaaaand back to my wine and Arrested Develpment I flounce...
I had to Google Tom Hardy. I'm still not really sure I could choose him in a lineup.
See, that doesn't bother me because you had ONE $1200 stroller, ONE $350 car seat... Get my drift? They have several. Plus, I know her and this is TOTALLY her bill.
