How do you do it? It makes the most sense for BD and I to meet halfway. We have been meeting in a fast food chain's parking lot. Is there a better option?
In our CO, it is the parent who is starting their parent time picks up from the other parent's house. I like it best this way, because it doesn't leave one parent waiting on the other, and the child is spending the end of their visit with one parent just sitting in the car with them.
However, BD has been doing all the driving lately because he just takes short day visits and stays in my area (we live 25-30 minutes apart, nothing major.)
My ex doesn't drive, so I drive to a mall that's 1.5 hours way and he meets me there on the bus and takes the bus back with DS.
We do EOW.
I am so over driving 3 hours round trip twice EOW. But DS is 4. My ex keeps hinting that he will move to the major city between us, and I can only keep hoping that he does because that will cut my driving in half.

Thanks! It sounds like this is a "don't fix what isn't broken" thing. Instead of driving 30-40 minutes from work to pick up DS and go home BD would drive 45 minutes to my house then 30-45 minutes back home. Since he doesn't get DS until the evening that's right during dinner time. It works out much better for us to split the driving. I just hadn't heard of anyone doing this before. Glad I'm not alone!
Well does it work for both right now? You could always have the parent reciving do the driving so you drive the whole way.
When BM would move they'd do switiching always at halfway points like a gas station.
Re: If you share driving...
For DD, we meet halfway at a Mexican food restaurant. We drive both ways to pick up and drop off my SKs.
