How did you get your child to feel comfortable with pooping in the potty? We are currently experiencing a poop strike since we started PT and I know he's uncomfortable.
DD always went to the same spot to poop when she was in diapers. So we encouraged her to bring her potty to the spot and poop there. Seems to work pretty well. There was one time when she had not gone for 2 full days, was on her third day and still nothing. She started complaining of hip pain and I knew that was causing it. I asked her if she wanted her diaper back on and she said, 'yes'. I just didn't want her to be in pain. I put it on her and that must have been enough to relax her because a few minutes later she was ripping her diaper off to poop in the potty.
I've also heard of people taking a poopy diaper and plopping it in the potty, so they can see where it goes.
When we started PTing DS, I just put the poop in the potty and let him flush. He actually had an easier time pooping in the potty than pee. I think he recognized the feeling of that before the urge to pee. He liked flushing it himself.
