Testes Friday anyone?

Good lord DH is driving me crazy. I clean this house pretty what feels like constantly. We have a very tiny house so any dirt or clutter is in a pretty concentrated area. If the house is even slightly messy it appears 10 times dirtier than it actually is. I really do my best to stay on top of things and keep a nice house. DH doesn't do much to help with cleaning because he works two jobs and when he's home he does all of the outdoor maintenance, any thing that needs to be fixed, and helps a ton with DS. I'm fine with that and never ask for help. You'd think that he'd at least try to be somewhat neat though to make my job easier.

Last night I cleaned all of the floors. This morning he must have put his dirty work boots on and forgot something. He walked through the house with them on and left little dirt piles freaking everywhere. He does crap like this all the time. He leaves empty packages on the counter a foot from the garbage. He leaves dishes in the sink 6" from the dishwasher. Leaves dirty clothes on the floor literally in front of the hamper. Makes a half asss attempt at wiping the counter after he shaves so there are still whiskers and I have to clean it anyway. I could go on and on. I've asked him a million times to just try to be more conscious of the mess he leaves behind, but it still continues. I'm married to a teenage boy I swear.

Sorry had to get that off my chest. Now I'm off to vaccum. Anyone else have a DH, or anyone else with a Y chromosome, driving you nuts?

  • Yes, I relate to all of these!  Especially the Kraft wrappers!  How come they never make it to the trashcan?  I guess b/c they are clear?

  • Woodsie, we definitely married the same guy. And Cate, your H sounds like he fits right in too.
  • DH has been nagging me about my lack is desire for a very long time now. Firstly, I know it's a problem and I am honestly trying to make it better but constantly nagging me about it doesn't exactly help. Today he got a FedEx package and I asked what it was and he told me it was "something to help him for the next few months".

A sex toy. Good for him. I told him he should have done it a while ago. He wasn't real thrilled with that response.

CMonkey, I could have written almost your whole post word for word!

    THIS!

I am constantly picking up after DH. I've tried leaving it for him so he could see what a slob he is, but apparently it doesn't bother him at all.

Also, we are moving next week so I have been trying to use up what we have in the pantry/fridge/freezer.  Every time DH stops in the market to pick up something for lunch, he also picks up some random grocery item. It's like a compulsion. He brought home lunch the other day AND a huge can of Marzano tomatoes and a bulb of garlic. WTF? He said he wanted to make tomato sauce. Ummmm. Okay. To go with what? He bought nothing else to make with it.

Also, yesterday morning he flew in from a business trip. He was on his way home for the afternoon because we had an appt with a photographer for our house listing. I was busting my azz trying to get the place ready for the pictures so I didn't hear him call or text to ask if he should pick up lunch. So he picked up lunch just for himself. Seriously? If I knew he was at home, I would never come home with something just for myself. I was so mad. I made him go back out to get lunch for me and E.  Ugh, boys.

  • MH bought the wrong part to fix the dishwasher and it falls off mid-wash...ugh.  Yet he still claims it is the correct part.

MH was also suppose to take care of the grass clipping bag instead he let it sit so I'm taking care of it and the bottom busted out from rotting grass. How I love cleaning up slimy decomposing grass.

I hate those helicopter pod/leaves.  I filled two lawn bags with them today just from the driveway and they are all over the new wood chips min the flower beds. Next year I will not put down wood chips until they fall.

DH just bought a chainsaw. When he told me, I asked him what the heII for? His reply: to chop firewood for camping. I looked outside to see something like this:

and asked him where he was planning on finding all of these trees to chop up for firewood. My dad has a place in BC with lots of deadwood to cut up for firewood, but it's a 5-6 hour drive. And he also has a chainsaw we could borrow. Apparently he wanted his OWN chainsaw. Boys and their toys.

I think your Dh needs to visit my yard it is begging for a chain saw.
