Intro and genetics ?

Hello all. I'm 36 and expecting 3 : DS is 10 and DD is 9 months. Nice to 'meet' you.

Are there any new blood tests they have been using for detecting syndromes? I will be asking about the MaterniT21 test. Thank you.

    Welcome. Best of luck and yes they do MaterniT21 and a test call Harmony which is about the same.

    Don't feel like I know too much about all the newer testing. Wanted to say congrats on you PG and welcome to the group!!
    TTC since 10/09 Me-43 DH-44 RE and testing 10/10-11/10, Recommending IVF 1/11 New RE AMA and DOR-DH low motility IVF #1.1 cancelled 3/11 due to poor response IVF #1.2 May 2011, one perfect 8-cell embryo, 3dt-BFN, IVF #2.1 Converted to IUI d/t poor response. New RE 9/2011. IVF 2.2 completed using HGH,EPP,DHEA, Q-10 and accupuncture. Transferred one 8-cell, grade one embryo on 10/19. BFP 10/31/11 Chemical pregancy on 11/2/11. Started stims for IVF #3, our final try, on 12-2-11. ET on 12/18. Transferred 3 Grade A embryos-BFFN Planning DE IVF, late March/early April- Donors ER expected to be 4/2-4/4. PAIF/SAIF welcome

    I just saw my ob wednesday and she gave me 3 options:

    1) CVS/Amnio, results = 100% accuracy

    2) Blood test @10wks, NT scan @ 12-13 weeks, another blood test at 16 weeks, results = 85-90% accuracy)

    3) NIPT blood test 11-13 wks, results = 95-98% accuracy.

    She did not mention anything about maternity21 ( I am assuming that either #2 or #3 are equivalent). I am not even considering an amnio - too risky.  So I will probably go with #3.  However, since I have a sister who was born with spina bifida and my daughter who was born with a cleft palate, she wants me to speak with a genetisist directly as well.

    We did Verifi, it is newer but our Dr suggested it vs amnio and felt that it was very accurate.  We also did the NT scan, but tech told us it was a formality since Verifi test was negative for any issues. Welcome!

    Congrats!

     I did the Integrated test as well as Harmony in conjunction with the NT screen.
