So, I've shared our sleep dramas before, and just wanted to share one small success we're having. I've discovered that DD's 45 minutes to an hour and a half of screaming fits before bed, with me checking on her every few minutes and lots of not-really-nursing, were because we were putting her to bed too late. Like, an hour too late.
For the past week we've started her bedtime routine at her first signs of sleepiness (she gets a bath and two books, and then she nurses), and have been laying her down awake around seven. I've been watching her on the monitor and she'll just sort of play around with her pacifier and chill out, sometimes talking to herself, before finally dropping off to sleep. With no crying. And no me needing to check in on her, either. It's amazing.
So, even though she still wakes at night and we still haven't figured out how what her nap needs are, I'm pleased that we remedied this issue, at least.
