Parenting after a Loss

Re: (Untitled)

  • Not too much advice as LO was always a bad sleeper. The worst was when he was between 4 and 5 and a half months. He was waking every sleep cycle so we were up every hour or so. Just recently I've been working on getting him down drowsy but awake and that has seemed to help him get through sleep cycles on his own.

We are up about twice a night to feed around 1 and 4.

  • Jackson went through that phase about the same time. Getting him on a strict schedule really helped. Now that he follows it to a T I need to cut out the 230 wake up for a paci

  • Ugh...this is us too.  L has never STTN but she'd only wake up once usually.  Now it's 3-4x a night and I'm exhausted.  We never swaddled so that's not the issue for us.  I'm wondering if it might be a growth spurt.  When she wakes up, she insists on eating...soothing doesn't cut it.

  • Oh, I wish I had good news. My DD was an awesome sleeper until she was about 4.5 months old, and she started waking through the night and we've only gotten freak STTN sessions since. I'm exhausted. I've gotten her down to three night wakings (two before I go to bed) and that's the best I've been able to do.

She nursed A LOT at night around 7 and 8 months. I realized she was not nursing as much during the day because of distractions (as PP said), so now I always try to nurse her in the rocking chair in her room and limit the noise and the light (and keep out the cat!) I also don't let her nurse as long during her MOTN wake up; we're down to one minute before I put her back in her crib, so it may be comfort related.

    GL! I know it's hard.
