First hair cuts

I'm sure this has been talked about, but when are you planning LO's first hair cut?? Or have you already done it?
I want to get DS's hair cut so badly but DH is against it at the moment. He thinks it will make him look so much older. I just want the hair out of his eyes plus he has a patch on top of his head that is like 7 inches long. Lol

Re: First hair cuts

  • My poor little guy got my baby fine hair.  It's thin and he's just starting to look like he has hair at all, much less in need of a haircut.  I was so hoping he'd have nice, thick hair like his dad. ;/

  • I'm waiting until one of two things happen, either it grows over her ears or grows down into her eyes. Her hair came in really slowly, though, so I know that's not much advice for you!

If I don't tuck his hair behind his ears it is at the middle of his ear and his hair touches the base of his neck. If we were going to keep his hair in a longer style than I would probably let it go, but I like short hair on little boys KWIM?

  • How much older will he look with a trim?
We've cut it ourselves three times. The first time DH was also not completely on board. DS had just come out of the bath and I was combing his hair. I told DH " I need scissors. His hair is just too long!" He brought them to me and I cut it right off the top. DH was shocked. He didn't think I was serious.

  • Griffin got a haircut about 4 weeks ago. He looked a lot older at first but it has already grown back very quickly. It was over his ears by an inch and pretty much to his eyes so it was time.

  • I've trimmed here and there as needed, usually longer pieces that get in the way.

  • W got a haircut a couple of weeks ago. It was crazy long, getting in his eyes, covering his ears, and had random long strands that were down to his shoulders. I'm so glad I did it, and he doesn't look nearly as grown up as I thought he would!

  • Nicholas will be getting his 3RD haircut this weekend.  The first two were about 1 inch trims.  This time it need an actual cut/ chop.  It will still have length but it will be a lot shorter.  I dont want to but after last weeks 90 degree weather and his long hair being soaked and stuck to his ears, face, neck... I have to so he does not suffer this summer! :(

  • I am thinking about trimming DD before her first birthday pictures/party. I don't really plan having anything touched except maybe giving her bangs.
