Ambsies' response about what she's doing for Father's Day reminds me of one Father's Day as a preschool Teacher. I used to regularly do story dictation where I wrote word for word what the kids said, even if it wasn't grammatically correct. It was Father's Day so I asked everyone to tell me what they loved about their fathers instead. One little girl (Ava...she was SO cute!) and I had this conversation:
Me: "Why do you love your Daddy?"
Ava: "Nothing. I love Mommy."
Me: "Well, what do you like about him?"
Ava: "Nothing. There's nothing I like about him. I like Mommy."
Me: "We have room in our hearts for loving all sorts of people. There's plenty of room in your heart for your Daddy, your brother, your friends..."
Ava: "Fine. I love that he kisses me goodnight and gives me a bath."

Proud Mama to cleft cutie
Her Dad was the sweetest guy. He was wrapped around her little finger. I am sure she appreciates him now. Let's think...she's probably 7 or 8 by now. Jesus. Never think about how old kids are! It makes you feel ancient.
