DS2 is 7 weeks old and pretty high needs. He nurses ever 2 to 3 hours and usually isn't soothed by anyone but me.
I'm okay with this, except for the fact that I am incredibly sleep deprived. So much so that it is exacerbating a pre-existing condition and I no longer feel safe driving, and occasionally even carrying DS (the condition gives me dizzy spells).
DS1 makes it impossible to "sleep when the baby sleeps," and DS2 has impeccable timing- he wakes up as soon as DS1 is napping or down for the night. DH helps when he can, but he works long hours and I EBF.
Any suggestions on getting some sleep?
Re: High Needs Baby and Sleep
My kids both hate sleep. I don't know what their problem is, as I love to sleep....I blame DH. Must be his genetics.
When I was pg with DS, I got a nice comfy rocking recliner for the living room. I was able to hold and nurse DS in there while leaning back and dozing off myself. I also bedshared at night so I could maximize sleep and get back to sleep more quickly after night wakings. Also, remember there is a 6 week growth spurt that your DS2 is probably coming to the end of so he may start to settle down a bit pretty soon.
Hang in there, it can be rough! PP's suggestion to let someone else help is a good one, even if you only get someone to help with your DS1 so that you can nap with DS2.

Thanks for the suggestions!
We do bedshare. We start out co-sleeping and then move to bedsharing after the first wake up. I don't really sleep well with him in bed. I wind up in the middle of the bed, with DH crowding me on one side and DS crowding me on the other.
