Henry has had sweet potatoes, bananas and avacado and we already have a lot frozen... yeah!
Next I think that I want to try pears, prunes, and something green (we have purred peas made already).
Just wanted to hear what things you have made succesfully and if you have tips/horror stories to share! ![]()
Re: What foods have you successfully made? Any tips?
other than what you have already tried, we have made and frozen apples, carrots,?broccoli, green beans, potatoes (they froze and reheated better when we used the food processor vs. the food mill), plums, squash,?zucchini, lentils.
i use the microwave to thaw and found that bananas get sweeter when cooked so i always mixed them with cereal if i froze them. ?it tasted like banana bread. ? melons and papaya freeze ok but need to be thawed in the fridge or on the counter. ?
As far as having to steam/bake:
sweet potatoes, green beans, broccoli, peas, carrots, squash, apples, plums, blueberries, peaches, pears, strawberries (after a year) mango,
for just pureeing and freezing:
kiwi, banana, avocado, watermelon, honey dew melon, canteloupe, and I know it had to be more, just can't think of more now
