I'd try giving him his own space. He may just wake from y'all shifting in your sleep. Try the crib and see if that helps.

  • Are you waiting a couple minutes to see if he falls back asleep or are you picking him up right away? What time is he going to bed for the night? Is he too distracted to eat during the day?

  • I have tried the crib, my LO screams and I am not ready for him to CIO. I do give him a moment to try and fall back asleep and give him his pacifier and sometimes that works. He is EBF and eats every 3 hours or less during the day

  • Oh yeah and he goes to bed around 6:30

  • does he actually wake? or just rouse a bit looking to nurse?

I co sleep with my LO when she wakes for her first feed. Some nights she will rouse a few times more then normal looking to nurse, it doesn't bother me. My first also did this and around 9 months I realized I was the problem and she needed her own space, I did Ferber's progressive waiting and problem solved.

  • He doesn't actually wake, he starts shifting around a lot and if I don't console or nurse then he cries and wakes up. I wanna try the Ferber method but I feel he is too young still

I agree...I plan on doing progressive waiting with DD#2 around 6 months. For now I will console her wakings with nursing. My 2 year old was treated the same way and is a perfect sleeper now.

ALL babies sleep very restlessly like this.  A lot of us don't know this because we don't co-sleep and they don't usually cry when they wake.  I think this is just something you have to deal with if you co-sleep.  If you put him in a crib, you might not be awoken by it.

I also don't think Ferber can be done if you co-sleep.  It works best if you are not in the room when they fall asleep.

  • If I try the Ferber method at 6 months he will be in his crib. No more co sleeping at that time. As far as the moving and shifting around, if I let be the he starts to wake.

Well he might sleep better in his crib and you won't need to :)

  • If it's gas, try infant massage.  Made a big difference for us.
