I guess it helps to have an emotional melt down on the phone with tech support. I couldn't control myself when it seemed like they wouldn't help me without a proof of purchase from the original packaging.
They became very supportive whenni cried and i will have a replacement pump in the mail tomorrow. Now I am calling around to see who has a cheap hand pump to tide me over. Hand expressing isn't giving me much relief at the moment, or producing enough for Liam to eat. I wish he would just breast feed.
Hang in there, I broke down in tears at my LC meeting when I had DS, I was so overwhelmed, he wasn't getting enough to eat, was on a nursing strike for a bit, etc etc, she helped me get it sorted out and we had a successful BF experience. It will get better.
::hugs:: I'm sorry. BFing is hard enough without additional issues. I hope you can get in with an LC soon and I second the recommendation of a medela manual pump. They work great. You're doing great mama. Hang in there.
Hang in there! I bet the LC will be super helpful, you could call or email the LLL for info and help too.
I am sure you know but just incase, make sure the nipples you are using are the slowest flow you can find. Faster flow makes it easier to eat and babies tend to prefer the fast bottle over the slow nipple. I had a ton of BFinf issues in the beginning and swear by BreastFlow bottles with slow nipplesthey mimic the sucking and compressing of BFing and require a decent latch to work.
Medela has been helpful in my experience. I hope it works out for you.

sounds like mastitis with the clogged ducts and hot/cold chills - if it is, you may need antibiotics to clear it up! also, have the doc check for tongue tie; i know that can really prevent a baby from being able to suck correctly.

I had some issues with BF in the beginning and it was so frustrating. I made an appointment with the LC on Monday, and since then I've had a lot of success. Hang in there!
I am so sorry your are having so many feeding complications, breast feeding is going as expected for is and I'm still so stressed out and exhausted. You are awesome for not giving up hope things look up soon !

I believe you can go to Target and get a Medela hand pump for around $30. The hand pumps are super affordable.
Hang in there mama! My LO is still on the inside but I'm can only imagine how frusterating it all is.
Thank you. I picked up a hand pump at target. The ladies are Thanking me .. Not to mention Liam's tummy appreciates it.

I am having problems too. LO is only 4 days and Dr. said she is dehydrated. I feel your pain as I am often crying and worried, just posted about it. Praying. And suggestion, have they checked to see if he is tongue tied, that can cause latching problems.
i am sorry....I too have been a hot mess ...I am sure it will pass for both of us... Until then I am thankful we can support rah other

I'm sorry. I was able to go back to L&D and had one of the nurses help me until I could see the LC.
Have you tried the nipple shield? How about a different type of formula? Also check with you doc about mastitis if you are getting the chills.
