5 6oz bottles plus ~2-3 tablespoons of oatmeal in the morning.. by 7 months we were also offering lunch and dinner, and some days he'd eat, others not so much. Shortly before 9 months, we dropped to 4 bottles as DS was doing better with eating 3 times a day.

Hmm...it seems like my DS is a snacker. I BF so I don't really know how much he takes in but once in awhile I give him expressed milk in a bottle. He will only take 3 ounces (if that!). Not sure if it is because its a bottle or if he doesn't really eat much at once. He will only eat from one side when nursing too.
We average about 5 feedings during the day and then 2 at night.

Given that 6-8 feedings/day is average for a BF baby at 6mo, I'm not sure what makes you think your LO is a snacker? Sounds normal to me.
I don't think it's abnormal in any way.... Just compared to the others posting, he seems to eat less at each feeding. Meaning he prefers to "snack" and doesn't take many ounces by bottle compared to others and is content nursing one side for only 5 to 10 minutes. In not concerned just curious.

I'm pretty sure at 6 months we did 6 feedings...nursing in the a.m. and at bedtime and 4 bottles of BM at daycare. I think around 7 months we dropped one of the bottles though but put more in the bottles. So whereas at 6 months I think he was getting 4 oz 6 times a day, at 7 or 8 months, I think he was getting 5 oz 5 times a day.

Probably around 8 nursing sessions, at least two of them at night. We introduced solids at 6 months, but she totally wasn't into them and didn't eat really until about 7 months.
