INTROish/IUGR question

Hello there(: So i'm sad to say it, but I got IUGR again and will probably be joining you within the next couple weeks. DS1 had it, and was born at 30 weeks about 2.5 yrs ago. Im now almost 34W with this pregnancy and they say baby Austin is about 3.5 lbs. his head blood flow is really good, but the rest of his body is small. (asymmetric IUGR) Does anyone else have experience with asymmetric IUGR? How long did it take for your blood flow to stop completely? Its been 6 days since they discovered the bad flow.

  • Sorry you are dealing with this again :-(  My son had IUGR (pretty sure it was asymmetric as well...his head has always been much larger than his body).

From the time we found out he was small, to the time he was born, was only a week (he was born at 32 weeks), so they never allowed the blood flow to stop completely...they just decided he would grow better out than in.

We are talking about TTC again and I am nervous about it happening to me again too...my older sister was IUGR but then my mom had 4 normal FT pregnancies so I am hoping for that next time.

The fact that you've already made it to 34 weeks though is great!  My friend had IUGR with her DD and she made it to 37.5 weeks...her DD was 4 lbs. 11 oz.
