The SLP has shared with me yesterday that DS does not say mommy/daddy slide for big and baby for little slide. She has been working on sizes with him for awhile. When we heard DS say mommy/daddy size and baby size, we have been correcting DS.
This isn't really a brag, but it cracked me up, so I'll share. DD's OT has been doing a lot of sessions where we work with another child around DD's age. DD enjoys it because it's more fun to play games with another kid instead of a grown-up. One of the things they've been working on is polite introductions at the beginning of the session. Today we were working with a 6 year old boy, and after he told DD his name I said, "Stella, can you introduce yourself, too?" S made a formal bow, and said, "My name is Stella, and I'm five years old." The OTs and I just about died laughing. Such a show-off
DS1 started an intense pre verbal speech therapy program at a local university on Monday. He has done amazingly well with the transition! He only melted down on the first day and his clinician leads him into the therapy room with bubbles, which he loves! I am really hoping we will see some great progress!
DS1: 4/15/2011
Dx: ASD, SPD and receptive and expressive speech delay at 21 months
