First Birthday Coming Up!

My baby girl's birthday party is coming up. So very bittersweet and exciting! We made it! Haha. 

I'm going all out with her party. It's the first and probably the only time I will be able to pick the theme. Soon, she will have her own opinion and will probably want to have her parties at Peter Piper or Chuck-E-Cheese (booo). My husband is rolling his eyes but letting me have my fun. I love to entertain and this will be the first large gathering at our home since she was born. 

I know other parents keep the first year celebrations low-key as to not overwhelm their little ones. What are you all doing to celebrate this hugely momentous occasion?

    Congrats! You are right, it is very bittersweet.. Growing up but not a little baby any more! DD will be one soon too!

    We are having a small family party on her actual birthday, which is a Tuesday, then a party with friends and such that weekend. 

    Small and casual, but very excited! She will have a chocolate for the first time and have a cupcake all to herself. I am excited to see how she reacts!

    We're going all out too... well, not overboard, anyway.  We're inviting about 15-20 families and we're renting a little party room.  Our theme is sock monkey.  Lots of food and fun!

    I've been planning my little guys for a while and I'm actually having a lot of fun as I never get a chance to plan parties.  I'm also spending WAY too much money though so that's not good.  I'm doing a sock monkey theme.  I've found a lot of cute stuff on Pinterest.  I got a sock monkey hat and took his picture and had some custom invites done.  I also ordered a custom onesie with his name and "1" on it.  I'm getting a cake with a fondant sock monkey and my friend is making sock monkey cake pops.  I'm doing an aqua/red color them so I've gotten a ton of paper lanterns to decorate.  I think there will be about 25 people there.  He's a very social baby so I don't think he will be overwhelmed.

    I'm so excited Brielle is turning one in July. We're renting a pavilion at the park and going to grill out play corn hole and just enjoy that she's one! I can't believe it but I'm so excited! We're doing a Minnie Mouse theme and I had this adorable Minnie Mouse onside and matching tutu made for her off of etsy.com :)

    we are doing that same thing. Her birthday is July 9, a Tuesday. So we will invite family over for dinner and cake and spoiling. And on the following Sunday we will have her party. I originally wanted her party on Saturday but another baby from little gym is having her party that day and I don;t want them to miss out on each other's party. Or to have to have the other parents choose which one to come to! I had no problem switching. :)

    Love the sock monkey theme! I'm inviting 8 families, plus my close friends and family. Should be a good crowd! What kinds of foods are you serving. Party menus always stump me!
