Another car seat question

Both kids' car seats are in my car, and we have never had one in DH's car. It just always seemed like a good idea to me to be like "oh, I am driving the Malibu, so I have the kids with me" and not forget anyone in the car. But with two kids, it would be nice sometimes to split up, so I thought maybe we should get one extra seat they could both RF in to put in DH's car.

Is there any reason I am not thinking of that two kids should not ride in the same seat on different occasions?

As long as the straps are below both of their shoulders, is that OK, or would we need to move them up closer to (but still below) DD's shoulders when she was going to ride in it?

You could do the Evenflo Triumph as well, if you are not looking at spending the money of a Britax for the second car.  I quite enjoy the  Evenflo car seat.  I have never owned a Britax convertible car seat.  I have the frontier 85 and the chaperone.  Leah had an Evenflo for quite sometime, before I bought her a frontier.
