Success after IF

I'm THAT mom.

Just made an appointment today and took DD to the pedi to see if she has MRSA.

She doesn't, they're just bug bites. And likely a spider bite on her face. So not only am I the paranoid mom, I'm also the one who lets her kid get all bit up, lol.

In my defense, DH was the one who suggested it. The school district he teaches at just had to be closed a month or so ago because a couple people there had MRSA, then a kid had it there a few weeks ago.

Anyone else ever go to the pedi for something semi silly?

  • Yep, I've taken DD to the pedi for all kinds of silly things .. mainly because the daycare calls and tells me things.

One time, they told me she had HFM. Nope, she had a heat rash on her wrist and a little bit of baby acne on her cheek.

Another time, they told me she had pink eye. It was an eyelash in her eye making it water. I actually got another call yesterday with potential pink eye. I did not take her in - it's just allergies. Stupid cottonwood!

And then there was the time that they said she might have measles?! I admit she was covered in hives, but it turned out she was allergic to her diapers.

There have been other times too, but those 3 come to mind.

Don't even worry. Better safe than sorry anyway :)

Oh geez, lol! Yeah I'd probably be going a lot more if she was in dc. I'm generally of the thought that it'll pass, lol. Dd got bit by a tick up north Memorial weekend...we Googled it and it appeared that nothing would happen, so I never called. Pedi didn't bat an eye when I told him today, lol.

Like firewife said, better safe than sorry. I'm definitely more likely to take E to the doc than myself. I haven't taken her for anything silly yet, but I'm sure I will.

  • You did the right thing. MRSA is not something to mess with.

I called the pedi to make an appt when M was 6 months old because his hands looked swollen. When I sent a pix to DH he made me cancel because his hands were just chubby baby hands not swollen. Lol
