DS's favorites are balls (he seriously plays fetch - with his sisters and alone - he throws and retrieves), cars, stacking blocks and books. Pretty much the same things that he has always preferred.
I have a serious bookworm and I hope he keeps this trait! Pretty sure I could pack up all toys(inside) and leave all of his books and life would be just fine. If he isn't inside "reading" books we are outside usually playing in some sort of water. He is totally into planes, trains and automobiles right now too!
Oh yeah, water! Cooper has the same water table as well, and loooooves it. SO fun. For me too. We play out on the back patio in the morning (west sun) and front in the afternoon (east sun).
When inside, Nolan really likes books, his push popper, this wooden alligator that that you pull on the ground, the little people zoo, and any type of vehicle. When we are outside, he loves his lawn mower and water table. He is really into trucks right now. If he hears the sound of the trash truck, he goes to the door so we can go outside to look at it!
Inside: books, blocks, stacking things, anything with wheels [ride on or otherwise], climbing on furniture, knocking things over, cords, anything with buttons to push, anything he can pull out of a drawer and hide [seriously he makes laps from the pen drawer in the kitchen to this little nook in the living room, hiding pens one at a time. Periodically I retrieve them all and put them back. Repeat the next day]. Overall, general destruction.
Outside: sticks, rocks, dirt, cats, dogs, lawn mowers, watering can, other gardening tools, picking flowers, and running ten directions at once. He will also stand by the road and wave at every vehicle that passes, including airplanes overhead.
Inside, he is a hellion; outside, he is easy to please.
Along with the toys she normally loves, Lucia is really loving those fruits and veggies that split in two with velcro. She uses a plastic toy spatula to split them apart, and can do it over and over again for the longest time. The girls have them, but I think we might need some for our house!
Haha.. her favorite toy right now is her little plastic lawn chair... she drags it EVERY WHERE! That or her ride on car... after that books, plastic fruits and veggies (I love those velcro ones... have to buy), and her popper. She's not a fan of her stacking cups, Little People Farm or mega blocks. her favorite thing to do right now is take everything out of the cupboards in the kitchen while i'm making supper.

After reading this yesterday I checked toys like that out on Amazon. Then I happened to find a wood Velcro sandwich making kit at a rummage sale for $3 this morning. It had a wooden "knife" to split the sandwich. DD loves it!

Outside L is into exploring all places he shouldn't, balls, water table, looking for bird, and helping water plants.
Inside, he is like a Godzilla. No space can be left neat! He has started becoming more interested in books. Currently, though he is obsessed with trains, trucks, and helicopters.

When outside he just wants to walk around and look for airplanes or helicoptors
Inside he loves matchbox cars and balls. He loves to run around with his walker because he can go so fast.
