I have been looking into baby wraps for carrying baby. The two brands I've encountered is the Moby wrap and the Dolcino wrap. Does anyone have any experience using these carriers and what did you like/dislike about them? Any information is helpful, thanks!
Re: Baby Slings - Which One is Best?
Well, a wrap and a sling are two different styles of carriers.
I had a moby and while I wanted to love it because a lot of people do - I just never did. It was too much fabric and wrapping for me to want to deal with. A k'tan is a similar concept to the moby, but think of it as pre-wrapped and you put it on - it is sized however so you may not be able to share with your DH if he wants to wear baby as well.
I have never heard of Dolcino so I can not comment on that one.
If you want a sling recommendation. I really love my Sakura bloom ring sling. I have a linen one and still use it with my toddler (infact I just used it today carrying her around a sale I went to, at 32 weeks pregnant
I found the sling really hard to get baby in comfortably, and it puts a lot more weight on my shoulder. I am able to breastfeed him in it discreetly though, so I used it at church on Sunday and breastfed him twice easily. A k'tan is like a double sling. I have one, but it is too big for me, so I never use it.
I just got the moby wrap and love it, but it is a lot of fabric. It holds him really securely though, and he loved it! It's easy to take with you.
I use the b'jorn when I want to be able to get him in and out easily, but I feel like it puts more of his weight on my shoulders.
I use Infantino Sash Mei Tai Infant Carrier grocery shopping. He feels secure, and the weight is distributed onto my lower back/hips. It's easier to put on than the moby wrap.
I still plan on getting an ergo carrier since I hear a lot of good things about that one.
they're all different, so ask around and see if you can borrow some to try them out.
My baby really loves being worn, and I love it too. The hardest thing is that he can quickly start screaming when he's hungry, and it takes a moment to get him out of the different carriers.
I got a ring sling from sleeping baby productions for dd3. It's so much easier to use. I love it!
