Nurseries and Baby Gear

CoSleeping "Nursery"

DH & I plan on cosleeping with our baby at least until I'm done breastfeeding & I plan to breastfeed for over a year. We will be sidecaring a crib because I don't feel safe sharing our bed and it seems like a good way to cosleep.

Anyways, I was wondering if other cosleeping parents had a "nursery" or how to do it. Our room is also very small.

Re: CoSleeping "Nursery"

  • We will be keeping our son in our room for the first few months until he can sleep most of the night since he will be sharing a room with my 4 yo SD and I don't want to keep her up.  My IL's bought us a Pack n Play by Graco to keep next to our bed.

  • We have the Arm's Reach Co-sleeper in our room and a dresser style changing table. That's it.  We've attached a small mobile onto the co sleeper, so she has that, but really she is far more interested in playing with a toy in there.

We ended up bed sharing the first few months and have only recently transferred her to the co-sleeper at about 5 1/2 months.

  • I had my son's crib in my room, right next to my side of the bed until he was nine months old. It was easier to nurse him at night this way and I had him in the crib because I used the angelcare monitor.

  • Have you looked for space saving solution ideas?  depending on your bedroom size- really you would need a dresser, and you could get away with changing baby on your bed if you don't have space for a change table, or could do a blanket/mat on the dresser top.

you can co sleep lots of ways as pp said.  we co sleep with dd in our bed in the middle of us. But you could use an Arm's Reach Co-sleeper too.  Depeds what you want to do
