Pregnancy acne

It just started and as if its not embarrassing enough, people like to point it out. "Oh yeah, you're pregnant look you're starting to get acne". THANK YOU! I look in the mirror everyday. Lol. I was on the pill and haven't had to worry about it for years

Any of you ladies use any good stuff to get rid of it? Or have any suggestions on products?

Re: Pregnancy acne

  • I got some sample acne medicine when I registered at buy buy baby. I was great. Not sure what it was called though. Maybe call one or stop in and ask.

  • I have backne.  I was on the pill forever and never got pimples and now I feel like a teenage boy going through puberty.  I haven't found any good remedies for them, but like some PPs I can share in your pain!
  • It's expensive, but I've had great results with SKII's line of products, especially the treatment liquid or whatever it's called. Patting that stuff on my face makes the acne disappear and my face glow.

To really gild the lily, buy the treatment masks and do one a week. You can reuse the mask at least once, lowering the cost per use.

    Hope this helps!
  • I too feel your pain!!  No solutions here yet!  Mine is on my back.  Thankfully it hasn't been warm enough to wear a bathing suit here yet!  Hopefully you find something that works!

  • Yes! I developed acne at about 8 weeks and was shocked and disappointed that it didn't leave with the first tri. It's not a miracle cure, but I've found some relief with tea tree oil. I dab it directly on my difficult spots twice a day after washing and before applying moisturizer. Hope this helps!

I am using tea tree oil as well. Mike it with some water in a 1:4 ratio and dip it in a cotton pad to clean your face. Does not make it go away entirely, but without it I was lost.
  • I wash with an oil-based deep cleanser (it's DHC's olive oil stuff) using a scrubby washcloth - you want to be clean but if you strip out too much oil, your body will go into overtime making even more!  Changing your pillowcases frequently also helps a lot.

  • Try Belli skin care's Anti Blemish Facial Wash.  It's safe to use when pregnant as it does not have the chemicals that should be avoided while pregnant.  I've used it and so have my daughters who aren't pregnant, but they are teenagers who have acne problems and it works great for them.  Give it a try, you can get it at Ulta stores, Buy Buy Baby or off their website.
