Anyone find a good deal on a glider/chair for babies room that doesn't look like something that belongs at grandma's house? And doesn't cost a small fortune?
We got ours from Costco. The Grace Glider with Ottoman for 689.99. I loved it with DS and plus it's something you can use after your done with having babies because it looks like a normal piece of furniture.
I got this one and love it since it doesn't scream baby and it is smaller than the regular ones (and I'm pettite) which is perfect for the small room. I also like that don't need a ottoman since I can perfectly reach the floor.
The negative reviews that I found said that you can not rest your head since it is a short glider... I am not sure how much that will affect once I start using it, but right now I love it so much!
We found this rocker recliner at Sams Club for $249. It's pretty comfy so I'm hoping we will be happy with it. I liked the idea of being able to lean back if the baby falls asleep on me.
Ours is from babies r us. We just assembled it last night. It was 300 dollars. White painted wood and tan plush microfiber cushions. With ottoman. By Shegman. Sp?

I ordered mine from BRU & it's not frumpy at all . It's called the Newco Premium Rosie Glider. The stock color is ivory which is what I liked but they have at least 30 different patterns to choose from and it's amazingly comfortable. It cost me about $300 and it will easily transition into the living room or our basement after I'm done nursing in it. Good luck in your search!
We got ours for DS on Overstock.com. It is a Dutalier but we got it for much less than retail. They have some cheaper brands too. Though I haven't looked in 2 years.

I got a great deal ($30) on a typical sturdy glider. I am however restaining it an espresso color, and recovering the cushions to make it look a little more updated=)
Re: Glider/chair
I'm looking for an inexpensive plush glider personally but I did take notice of this rocking chair.

It's not the most trendy glider but not grandma like either in my opinion

I had a VERY limited selection because I'm big. I weighed 275 prepregnancy. so I needed a chair that was good over 300lbs for my personal preference.

It's $160 with the foot rest, has a 300lb limit and is comfy, but still durable. I like the Olive/Espresso because the wood matches my nursery sets.
Granted, I have an old country homes vibes to my house, so it probably does look at least a little Grandma-like
