Breast Pumps

I just found out my insurance covers a breast pump but only a manual not electric. I plan on taking 8 to 12 weeks off after baby is born but will then have to go back to work full time. I'd like to continue breast feeding as long as possible when I return to work so I'll have to pump. I was disappointed to find out only a manual is covered. Any other working moms able to continue BF after going back to work with only a manual pump? Any suggestions on the best manual pumps?

    I am a nurse and would never have time to pump manually. I highly suggest a good electric pump if you want to keep up with EBF! I had a medela pump in style advance and was able to continue successfully bf'ing for 10 months even while working!

    Sorry your insurance doesn't cover an electric, but I highly recommend I eating in one anyway. When you go back to work, you will not want to have to manual pump 3 to 4 times a day. A double electric will give you the ease you need and still allow you to be hands free. Plus, it most likely can get way more than you can with a hand pump.
    I used a Medela PISA. But there are less expensive ones too. Do some research. Read reviews. And pick one that works for you and your budget.

    Thanks ladies. I figured it would be too difficult with a manual. I just didn't want to spend the on an electric if it wasn't necessary. I'll start doing some research. Thanks again
