Babies: 9 - 12 Months

Baby girl is aggressive on play dates!

My baby girl is very sweet, smiles a lot. Love looking at little kids. But when I put her on the floor to play, she turns into a big bully! She like to crawl on top of other kids, pull hair, pull their shirts and pull them down.

What gives? How can I teach her to be a little less aggressive towards others?

I don't think she's being mean, she is just figuring things out. Redirect her or show her how to play nice. We have to do this with DS and the cats. She might not fully understand, but I think you should be working on it now. Being repetitive really helps.

I agree.  She is learning how to interact with other babies.  Show/direct her on how to play with other babies and eventually she will get the hang of it.

  • This is exactly how I picture my LO when she starts moving around more! I agree that I wouldn't consider it agressive, just learning and exploring. It's amazing how much of how we act is a "learned" behavior, because we consider it common sense that it's rude to climb on top of other people (can you imagine doing that at work to a coworker? lol) but we have to teach them what is and isn't appropriate.
