    Hi Everyone!

I'm kinda new here. After 4 failed IVFs and the recent dx that IVF and my eggs don't get along, I've come to the conclusion that we need to use donor something. I have a doctor appt. in 2 weeks to discuss IUI with donor sperm or donor eggs with IVF. Not sure if both are on the table. It's been a rollercoaster of emotions and for the most part, dh and I seem ok with it. Today was not one of those days- just overwhelmed with sadness and crying, but I had to go to work and pull it together. Today I was almost grateful for the long commute to work to help me get in the right mindset. But of all things, I'm listening to Pandora and my doctor's voice comes on with a commercial for my RE clinic.  I probably could have tuned it out, but it was his voice- ugh! total cry fest on the way to work. Just need some time to not think about it and get through the rest of the schoolyear.

QOTW: I'm a complete Pinterest addict- and yes, I actually make 20% of the stuff I pin and they usually come out a little better than the original. Hair and make up tricks, on the other hand, 0% success rate.

Poohniki-Welcome to the group!  It is normal to have mixed emotions with a big decision like choosing to use DE and/or DS.

KM672-You are getting close.  Sounds like you will probably be doing a summer cycle....excited for you.

Update-Nothing new here.  Saw OB late last week.  Couldn't find HB on Doppler, that was nervewracking......but on the flip side we got a chance to see our LO on u/s.  We announced to coworkers this past week, nice to have everyone knowing.  I'm a nurse and it's real hard to break bad habits of moving patient's myself, everyone's been great about pitching in to help out.

QOTW-Travel, I love to go anywhere.  Weekends away.  Love to see the city of Chicago in a new light and in different ways.....in essence playing tourist in my own backyard.  We got our passports this year and got to go to Jamaica right after we found out we are expecting.  I spend a lot of time dreaming about where I would like to go next, and even pricing things to try to figure out family friendly destinations we might be able to afford.

Like it says in the check-in, I had my orientation Thursday.  Last thing is the psych appointment, which is a week from Friday.  I am insanely stressed because of Qualifying Exams--I'm more than halfway through my PhD, and Quals will decide if I am allowed to continue.  It is a 15 min presentation on my research and plan, and then 1 hour 45 minutes of being grilled by four professors on my research and four topics I picked, 1 medical, 2 engineering, 1 basic biology. I am more stressed than I have been in years--I don't feel adequately prepared.  It will all be over a week from today.  Ugh.  But at least I have getting the ball rolling with donations later that week to look forward to, then I can actually be matched and start cycling!

    Hi ladies!

I'm still on track to cycle with a projected transfer around July 17.  We're finalizing the donor contract so hopefully that will go smoothly.  The only sticking point (though we're not sure it will actually be a sticking point) is that we don't want to give the donor veto power over donating leftover embies.  Not because her preferences don't matter, but because I don't want to be forced to destroy viable embies.  So we'll see if she objects.

I started Lupron today.  Fortunately when I was on Lupron in the past it wasn't too bad -- only after ten days or so did I start getting headaches.  Hopefully I'll start taking estrogen before things get too bad.

Hobbies -- I like to garden, and just got a garden again after years without one.  I love seeing what's blooming and figuring out what to plant.  I plant mostly perennials, in hopes of creating a garden that will fill in and grow better with each year.  We'll see!

Got released from re last Monday. We saw the baby, and the heartbeat at a strong 156 bpm. I have my first ob appointment on the 19th. I found out this weekend that my sister is using the same ob which I didn't expect since she lives in a different town! Apparently, I didn't put my due date last time--it is Jan 14, 2014.

We also got our paperwork for our yearly storage fee for our remaining embryos and are a bit freaked about the additional paperwork with it. We have to sign over what we would choose to have happen with the embryos in the event of our death. We can either destroy, give for research, or donate to another couple. The issue is, this clinic only does anonymous donations and that violates our contract with previous donors as well as contract with Reprotech. So we need to see if we can have this changed. Hopefully, there is never a need for this!!!

QOTD: I am an obsessive reader. I can't handle not having a book or something to read with me at all times. It drive DH nuts how I can so consumed with reading and he has to repeat things 100 times because I am not paying attention to him!

  • Options

I started birth control today. I'm still waiting for my official calendar but everything looks like mid-late July!!!! Eeeekkkkkk!!!! It still doesn't feel real yet but it's getting there.

I have a lot of weird hobbies (knitting, painting, running, hiking, scrap booking etc.) but mostly I love to garden. I live in a suburban area in a lage city. We have a decent lot with a pool and I grow enough fruits, veggies and herbs to be considered a dooms day prepper, lol. I have the huge, wild beautiful yard and I'm in it all the time.

Heeeeey everybody!  ((HUGS)) to all that need them ?

I'm still just chilling out and waiting. Not really, I'm so impatient.  I am getting a copy of my medical records to take to my OB/GYN so he can see the errors made.  But this means I have to go through and highlight what I'm trying to show.  This will be tough....Lots of tears.

QOTW:  I'm always trying some new crafty thing.  I painted an old bird house like "Starry Night" and tomorrow I'm making a door wreath.  It keeps my mind off things.

    Hello all!!
Not much new here. I should know more by beginning of next week. They are working in getting me a calendar this week. I guess my RE was having some major heart problems the last few weeks and the nurse informed me she had to take him to UCLA for some testing but he's back to work and doing surgeries all this week. That's scary! Hopefully all is ok with him now.
Today I dropped off a big box of my left over meds for my donor to use at the RE office . I had the gonal f pen, Hcg shot, some ganerilix, lupron and lots of follostim. So glad she's gonna be able to use it. And last week I paid for her omnitrope. The other couple were are doing the shared cycle with paid for the rest so that was a huge money saver!!! So in a few days she begins the lupron. July 2nd ish she should begin stimming.
Had a rough night. A very close friend was diagnosed with breast cancer today. So I was at her house till late tonight talking with her. They seemed to have caught it very early. She's only 40 and had two kids 10 an 11. It really puts life into perspective and im so grateful for her because she has helped me so many IF struggles and I hope I can be there for her as well!

Qotd: I'm super crafty and have really been into Annie Sloan chalk paint and distressing furniture. I currently have three antique chairs I'm in the process of painting white and distressing and re upholstering them as well. It's a work in progress. Next I am doing a huge hutch for my dining room that I got at a steal on Craig's list for 140!!!

    Hi everyone!

Not much new here. I hit 14 weeks today and am now officially in the 2nd trimester which is great. Still fighting the m/s but hoping it eases up soon. We have our next OB appt a week from Fri which seems like forever. These once a month appts are killer! :)

Q: I don't know if you could call it a hobby really, but I love running and biking. Haven't done either since the BFP and really miss being outside. When the m/s eases up I will definitely be out there power-walking at least.

Hello everyone!  Hugs to anyone who needs them <3

How are things going this week? What's new?

Not much going on, I did talk to the DE coordinator and there are 2 donors who should be cycling within the next few months, who I actually like. So now it is kinda a wait and see process, because we want to be part of the shared cycle, so waiting to see what happens.

What is your favorite hobby or two? And tell us a detail about it - like "I love to cook and the best thing I made lately was..." etc. Go!

Reading, running, cooking depending on how long of a workday I have had! lol. That and I am working on putting together photo albums that we never have had time to do :-)

    April 2013 DE IVF= BFN

September 2013 DE IVF (Fingers Crossed) = BFFFN! again...

October 2013 FET of our last 2 = Beta Hellzz for 6-7 Weeks. M/C

    Hi Ladies!

Nothing really new here. The donors returned the signed contract and I have it in my hot little hands now, which makes these embryos 10000000% ours. YAY! Now I'm trying to get my embryologist to initiate shipping with the donor's clinic where they are currently housed. I have no idea what hurdles this will present since the donor's clinic is being a pain in the butt and is not that supportive of the donor donating to us. They can kiss it, they have to cooperate but I have a feeling there may be some hiccups due to this.

Hobbies? I'm starting to really get into photography. I treated myself to a nice DSLR right after my miscarriage as a way to find distraction from the pain of IF/loss. It's been really fun to read books about it and learn how it all works. I've been able to capture some shots I'm actually proud of. I added a few from our weekend getaway to my blog post yesterday: www.wishingonasnowflake.com

Other than that, I like to cook and I'm also into pinterest. However, I've probably made about 2% of the crafts I pin lol. I just got all the materials to make a tufted headboard by hand so I hope to take that project on this weekend. I'm sure I'll be taking photos of the completed project once it's done.

Update: Nothing new this week....just waiting for our meeting with the donor nurse in a couple of weeks. I've been trying to make a list of all of the questions I have (which is a lot!!) about donor eggs. I am worried that the clinic is going to be TOO anonymous so I am not sure what we will do if that is the case. Agencies are so expensive =/
