What do you ladies think? It's a family name on DH's side and he loves it. I'm on the fence. I feel like it might be leaving a lot of room for teasing during the awkward years. For what it's worth, sibling is Henry.

There is way too much room for teasing in that name and I find it really unattractive. Sorry, OP. And it just might be a reindeer? If not, it would fit in with the others.

Ha! I don't think it's an actual reindeer name but, you're right, it would fit right in. Maybe DH will agree to MN status instead. Now, any recommendations for FN that would coordinate?

I feel terrible for him but my godson is named Mason Dixon Mick.son. (Great kid, unfortunate name. He goes by Doc most of the time MD Mick.son.)

While I like Dixon, I'd definitely keep it as a middle name.

Since Dixon sounds more like a surname, I would go with a more traditional first name.

I agree with his. I think Henry and Dixon are so cute together! Kids will make fun no matter what you name your child! They will find a way if they really want to. I say go for it!

Dixon is my surname so it just wouldn't even enter my head to have it as a first name.

Kids will be mean. We started calling out daughter all the awful nicknames we could come up with since her birth, so she will be use to it! Her name is Piper. We call her Piper Diaper all the time! Out of love of course! Go with your gut!

Sorry I don't love it.. Dix is a terrible nn for a boy to grow up with I think and for that alone I don't think I would personally use. Henry is awesome and I think Dixon pales in comparison
