Q for those that had a tubal...

Is your period heavier and longer than before?

I have short, relatively light periods now and I don't want that to change after baby.O am thinking that H will have to just get snipped because I don't know if this is one side effect I can take every month for at least the next 15 or so years.

Sorry I don't have an answer but will be watching because I have heard the same thing about period changes after a tubal.

  • I've heard the same thing.  I will be watching this thread as well. I'm having it done regardless.  This body is only producing 2 babies!!!!  I did hear (and the Dr said) it would be heavier at first.  It would ease up shortly thereafter.
  • I didn't get my period until 4 months before this pregnancy. I bfeed ds until he was 10 months but the periods were not that bad at first just the cramping. My got worse when I flew up here to Alaska. I was on my period during the move and it made things very uncomfortable.

I had a tubal done during my c section with DD. My periods were definitely much heavier for the first year or so. They've gotten lighter and are now almost back to what I remember pre-babies.

  • I just got my period (I'm EBFing #4) last month and yes, heavier and longer. I've always had pretty normal periods and no PMS, etc. so this was a change.
