I can tell people my baby is my grandchild

Seriously someone told me that today when I told them I was pregnant.

I will be 39 when this baby is born.  I don't consider that being that old, yes I do have a 20 yr old son but still.    Maybe I'm being overly sensitive and could probably use a full night rest but it really bothered me.

    That is horrible! I will be very upset too. I am 36 and I feel old but not too old. People are so rude!

    5/17/13 BFP!!! 6/6/13 - OMG its TWINS!

    Josie and Lexie were born on January 4, 2014 at 37w2d
    Josie was 5lbs2oz, Lexie was 4lbs15oz 
    Both had a 9 APGAR score with no NICU time
    Planned unscheduled C-Section due to both being breech
    We all went home on Jan 6th, 2 days after surgery

    That happened to my mom when my brother was little.  She didn't have the heart to tell the person she was pregnant with another.  people need to think before they speak.

    RE consult Dec 2012, diagnosed with lean PCOS (didn't see that coming!)  medicated cycles 1 - 4 = BFN

    That is terrible.  I am about your age, so if it's any consolation, I can also call my children grandchildren.  If that's the case, perhaps someone else will stay up with them all night and pay for their college. :)

    Hang in there--there's some great advantages to being a little bit older as a mom.

    That is ridiculously rude. However, since I will be 40 when this baby is born, maybe I will start telling people it's my grandbaby so I can get discounts and compliments on how fab I look for a granny! Wink

    That's really shitty. I feel for you. I'll be 39 as well. The checkout girl at Safeway asked me once if my 14 month old was my grandson. I just about cried and told her to eff off!!!  Stupid 18 year old.

    Cycle#1-3 Clomid 50mg + TI= No response
    Cycle#4-5 Clomid 150mg + Metformin 1000mg + TI= BFN, but finally ovulation!!!
    Cycle #6 Clomid 150mg + Metformin 1500mg + IUI(4/15)= BFP!!! EDD 01/06/2014 <br>

    Wow... I am the same age and this comment was a gut punch. I heard from other moms that we are going to start getting some awful comments during pregnancy but this is insane.

    And I will add that I think I look great. Yes, most days I don't wear makeup and I am totally sleep deprived, but I sure as hell don't look like a grandma!!!!
