Disposable diaper help!

DD has been in cloth diapers since the day we came home from the hospital.  However, I've just discovered that we both have thrush, and she has a yeast diaper rash.  I have disposable liners to use at home with the anti-fungal cream, but I don't trust daycare to use them correctly so I think I'm just going to get some sposies to send there.

I'm thinking Pampers... but I'm open to suggestions here.  DD is a little over 16lbs, 26-27" tall.  She's primarily in 6 month clothing, but we're in 9 month sleepers because of her height (and will probably be moving to 9 month clothes in the next month).

Anyone with a LO roughly her size?  Which diapers do you use?  If I use pampers, do I get the swaddlers, baby dry, cruisers?  There are too many choices!!  And would you recommend size 2 or 3?  Size 2 says 12-18lbs, but size 3 starts at 16lbs, which she's at now.

Sorry, I'm very out of my element here... Any suggestions would be welcomed :)

Re: Disposable diaper help!

  • DS is roughly the same size (18 lbs, 27.5 in), we use Pampers Swaddlers during the day and Pampers Baby Dry at night.  He's in size 3 and has been since he was barely 16 lbs, they just fit his length better than size 2 did to be honest.  I'd go with pampers, swaddles or baby dry, but, I also don't know anything about cruisers to be honest since DS isn't really mobile yet

  • We get the Swaddler Sensetive and like them for both night and day. If he already has a rash, perhaps the Sensetive would be better? Also we're about the same size and are just using up our 2s before moving to 3s, so I'd probably just buy 3s.

  • Hudson is 18 lbs and 29 inches.  We tried Pampers in the beginning, but always had problems with leaking.  We started using Target brand diapers and love them!  We use size 3.

Sorry, no answer as I'm a CD Mamma, but have you thought of just using gentian violet and wiping it out fast for you DD? Yes it will turn what it touches purple but it's fast and you can still use your diapers
  • We use swaddlers size 3 during the day and baby dry size 3 at night, the baby dry do run small though. She just started using the swaddlers size 3 like yesterday and she is 15 lbs. For a rash I would use the baby dry ones, they really keep them dry hence th e name. Good luck, hope she heals quickly!

  • We use pampers swaddlers size 3 for both day and night and love them. We started using them awhile go and are still in them so def buy the size three because you can always make them as tight as you need.

  • Sam is about the same size, and we like Pampers and Luvs (we just switched up to size 3s). We like the Baby Dry ones, and use the Extra Protection ones at night. Those have been great! Good luck getting rid of the rash!

  • I use Pampers - Swaddlers size 3 and then cruisers.

My good friend DD has very sensitive skin and swears by Honest diapers (Jessica Alba's brand). With her other kids she used Earth's Best Brand.

  • I would definitely go with size 3. We do huggies during the day (daycare provider preference) and pampers at night.
  • I echo the size 3 recommendation.

I do a mix of CD and sposies. When I do sposies, I use Earth's Best. I tried several more "environmentally friendly" sposies, and found that these were a good combo of (relatively) "green" and reasonable price.
