I need to nest!

I am so far behind on everything I would like to have done BUT I have zero energy to do so. Where's my motivation?! Where's my crazy nesting instinct when I need it?! Anyone else feeling the drag of the glorious third trimester? Aside from heart burn and hip pains of course!

Re: I need to nest!

  • I didn't get hit with the nesting until the week before Lucas was born.

  • I've had small spurts but the past three nights I haven't been sleeping so I spend all day napping or in a sleepy haze so nothing's gotten done since.

This is me, but instead of nothing getting done, I do everything at 2 AM. Ha!

  • I've been nesting and organizing every room in the house like crazy, every room BESIDES THE NURSERY. Hahaha.
  • I have yet to be bitten by the nesting bug, I want to get his room ready but DH says I can't buy anything until the showers. My first one is this weekend and the second one is July 4th weekend. So I'm impatiently waiting.

  • We just moved so I've been nesting every room! We're still waiting on our nursery furniture to come in so I haven't been able to organize the nursery as much as I would like to.

  • I am convinced that nesting is a myth, because I have yet to experience it, and this is my third!

  • I didn't nest with my first either.  But DH and I were remembering how at the end of my last pregnancy I went to get a snack and decided to bake a cake instead.  It was very random and pretty funny.

DS arrived a week after that so we laugh that my "nesting instinct" was to bake my unborn child his birthday cake!

I have been fighting the urge to bake a cake for the past three weeks.  There's a cake mix in my pantry that's dying to get baked but the last thing we need in our house is a whole cake for just the two of us!

Aww. That is a really cute story.

  • The nursery is still the guest room because our basement tenant doesn't move out until the end of the month. I haven't done a thing, and it's only now that I'm getting antsy.

Fortunately, this is #2 and plans are pretty basic. If she shows up before she has a room, we'll be fine.

  • I get it early. Around 20 weeks or so. All of the rooms were done by 25 weeks

  • I've never felt the nesting instinct but I was a h3ll of a lot more motivated to get ready for DD than this one.

I think it has a lot to do with the kitchen reno. I'm so busy and overwhelmed with that that I just can't wrap my head around another project of any other variety.

Ha! This reminded me that earlier this pregnancy I wanted a snack, and made an entire green bean casserole. I only had about 2-3 servings from it, and threw the rest away. *SMH* Such a waste.

  • I've had a running list of things to do before LO arrives and have been steadily working on it. Out of no where yesterday I decided that painting the stair hallway HAS to be done also. You know, cause you can't bring a baby home without a freshly painted stair hallway.
Funny part was I told DH he has to do it since it involves a ladder over the stairs. He looked at me dead serious and asked "is there anything else I'm going to get voluntold to do?"
  • I have heard so much about this nesting and feel like maybe there's something wrong wih me because I don't have the urge to clean uncontrollably. I clean in spurts but mostly because it HAS to be done and even then I really just DON'T want to. I feel exhausted all the time and am looking forward to being exhausted from taking care of LO not from doing the dishes. Ha
  • I hear ya!! I also cannot seem to get enough energy to nest. I had a list of things that I "had" to get done before LO arrives and now I am starting to think that I have the nursery ready so... do I really need to have all the other rooms in the house "perfect: too....my brains says yes but my body says no way!

  • I did have an OCD attack and was doing yard work and pulling weeds and cleaning the bathrooms and stuff at like 25 weeks oh and had to get the nursery painted. Welp haven't done much since then and now of course everything is a mess again. It's harder because I'm waiting for my baby shower in a few more weeks to see what I get before I really can do too much.
The crib is built, the dresser is half built, I ordered curtains and throw pillow covers from etsy but that sums it up
