Glucose test

I took my glucose tolerance test and passed my fasting and 1 hour but failed the 2 hour. I am not sure at all what this actually means. has this happened to any of you ladies?

I've never heard of the 2 hour, with my doctor you go in for a non-fasting 1 hour test and then a fasting 3 hour test if you fail. Just call your doctor and ask what it means.

I've never heard of a 2 hour test. I'd call the doctor for clarification.

I had a two hour test. Basically I can in, they did a blood draw, then had me take drink then did another blood reaw at 1 hour and another one at 2 hours. I passed both, so I am not sure about your situation. But I find it really odd, I would assume you would fail the 1 hour test before the 2 hour test....

I had a 2-hour glucose test too. I had my blood drawn, drank that nasty drink, waited an hour, had blood drawn, waited another hour and had my blood drawn again. So I'm assuming this is what you had done too and you passed the first blood draw after you drank but failed the second blood draw. Makes sense because maybe after awhile your body had problems processing the glucose. Do you have to take another test? That is what I'm worried about because I was soooooo sick after my test and I don't think I could drink that stuff again and keep it down.

Why would they have you take a second test if you passed the one hour? Or are you saying your numbers were ok at the one hour draw but not at the two hour t draw of the same test?

My doctor does the 2 hour test as well, and I think the point of the 2 hour is to avoid having to do the three hour if you fail the initial test. I would imagine that someone will get in touch with you about next steps, probably how to manage GD.

Never heard of a 2hr. Usually it's just you drink the stuff sit 1hr they take your blood and off you go....and my office doesn't want you to fast.

If you mean that your numbers were ok at the fasting and 1h draws but not the 2h, it means your body had trouble processing the glucose over time and you may have GD. Depending on how far from normal the 2h number was, your doctor may have you do another test, suggest diet changes to manage blood sugar, or treat you as full on diabetic with whatever treatments go with that.
