Home Study Done

Well it's all over. I had myself so worked up when she left my head hurt from the let down lol

I'm sure it'll be fine and she was very nice.  I only wanted to kick my husband once LOL  She told him I already looked in your gun safe (he's a hunter) and he states well yes, that's some of them. uhhh shut up lol  He thought she was "complementing" his stash of rifles and he proudly said there's more lol Thankfully she was not paying attention to him.

I'm glad that's over and now we just wait for our recommendation.

  • D'oh!  Did you explain to DH that she wasn't complimenting him on his gun stash? I can just imagine you shooting looks at him.  LOL.

Even though our homestudy was not that long ago it felt like a giant relief to have that step done. It's not that we were worried about it but it is such an important step that when it is done I felt like we finally accomplished something in the process.

  • Congrats, that's super exciting! Glad it went well.
  • Congrats!

  • Congrats!  That is a BIG thing! :)

After our CW left after our first home study, my husby and I flopped on the couch together and breathed a HUGE, deep, beautiful sigh of relief.  We didn't realize how nervous we were until that point!  Surprise

I'm a dance studio owner, writer, cat mommy, and adventuress who is married to the man of her dreams. My husband and I have had a long-time dream to adopt and it's happening in a way that we didn't quite anticipate. But, like any move of God, it's turning out way better than we expected. We'd love for you to follow our story at www.kirstenkline.com!
  • I used to do home studies for foster care.  His comment may hit her as she is working on your report and you will get a phone call about the other guns.  Make sure they are all properly stored, you don't want this to be something that disqualifies you.
  • They aren't at our house... so I'm not concerned about them.  They are in a fun safe at his parents home.  She did have me actually open the gun safe here so she could see what he had.
