I hear from friends that they *never* cut their DDs hair until much later in life. I doubt that's true or I imagine their hair wouldn't be so attractive. However, I noticed the other day while DD was in the sunlight, that she has some split-ends. I'm sure they a result of that being the hair that was in-utero (in the amniotic fluid), or maybe I'm wrong. But anyway, I don't want to cut her hair but am thinking I need to in an effort to allow it to grow-in full and healthy. Her hair is shoulder length but curls at the ends so it looks short. When did you cut DDs hair? Is it a major PITA to get them to hold still? TIA
Re: How old for girl's 1st haircut???
DD is 19 mos and has never had a haircut. I check for split ends periodically but she doesn't have any. All of her hair fell out around 4 mos, so none of her hair is "original."
Her hair does get in her eyes, so I always have to put it in a barrette or ponytail holder. It'll be a while before she gets a haircut (unless she gets split ends). I'm waiting because she has crazy cowlicks (thanks DH) and her hair literally was in a mohawk her first 14 mos or so, until I could put it in barrettes. Bangs won't work on her. It's about shoulder length. I don't want her hair to be super long, because that'll be a pain for me, but I'd like it to all be touching her shoulders before she gets it cut.
Both girls were 7 months old when they got their first haircut. They have a LOT of hair.
I took them to Snip-its - it's a kid's salon in my area. They both hated it! LOL!?
My bald baby will probably NEVER need a haircut. LOL
My BFF's friend just got her DD's cut at 4.
LOL We went to Snip-It's too and DD loved it!! Maybe it was the age though.
