I'm 17 weeks pregnant with a baby boy my doctor believes I have a bicornate uterus. She has suggested injections of progesterone to reduce the chance of preterm labor by 50 percent. These injections are costly not covered by insurance. I wonder if any of you ladies have or are going through anything similar have advice for me before I make a decision.
Re: Bicornate Uterus
I agree, ask about progesterone suppositories if you're worried about cost. Your doc is the professional and I don't think it would be wise to decide against their professional opinion. This is all for the health of your baby and worth every penny you will pay out of pocket.
I don't know what health insurance you have, but for every out of pocket expense I pay for a service/prescription that isn't covered, it goes towards my deductible. Did you ask your carrier if that applies to you?
I delivered my first at 35 wks and was put on injections for my second, which I believe is what helped me carry to full term. This pregnancy my doc prescribed suppositories.
I hope you make the right decision, good luck!
