Babies: 9 - 12 Months

What's your baby's personality like?

Just curious to see how your LO's personalities are shining through. I can already tell my DD is a social butterfly. She's always smiling at everyone and catching everyone's attention everywhere we go! How are your LO's?? Do you think its too early to determine what kind of personality they have?

Re: What's your baby's personality like?

  • My LO is very shy just like me. And she's a big scary cat. Shes very well behaved and does whatever me or my husband tells her. I can already tell she is going to be just like me.

  • DS is super social and a huge flirt he seems in love with blond girls. He is a little bit mischievous

  • DD is very intense and sensitive and has been like this since birth.  She has many sweet and playful moments with H and me, but not with others.  She is very inquisitive and a good eater!
  • My LO is a big ham. He likes to be the center of attention.  He also is very curious.  He actually seems to get more cranky when he is at home and bored than he does when we are out and about.

  • DS is NON-STOP!  Seriously if he is awake he is on the go.  Always looking at what he can get into, and I swear he thinks the word "NO" means "let me look at you a second and then continue on with what I was doing!"  He is incredibly high maintenance and overall pretty fussy.  There is a lot of whining and crying in our house!  Because of always wanting to be on the move, car rides are torture (he just cries and screams the whole time he's in his car seat).  All that being said, he is also super sweet, can now give "kisses", is smart (in our opinion, LOL...he can say 11 words already, and knows the meaning of 19 other words/phrases that he can't say yet...we just counted today!), and cracks us up every day.

  • DS is quite active.  Won't sit still in our laps anymore.  He smiles all day and likes to get people's attention in stores and smiles and waves at them.  He is so easy going and happy even when he's sick or teething.
  • My DS2 (10 months) is laid-back and self-entertaining. He is independent and likes to play, eat and sleep with as little intervention as possible. I think he is like this because he's very perceptive and contemplative, and when he's exploring/thinking about something he's very happy. He also likes to talk a lot a will babble to his parents or his big brother, or "sing" to the radio in the car. He just really likes thought-based activities. I see him becoming an intellectual, shy and independent person.

On the contrary, DS1 (2.5) is all up in everyone's business, like to be entertained by people, and would much rather run around with a ball or a train than sit and talk! They're quite the foils for each other.

I think we have the same baby LOL (except he doesn't have a vocabulary that large, definitely talking but 11 words is great!).

Give me back my baby! LOL, my LO is exactly like you just mentioned. He is a hoot, but such a little mess.

  • She is like a mini me of myself.

She is shy, but she can be social.  She is not neat.  She likes to destroy her brother's train set.  Her world revolves around people that she really likes.  She likes fashion.  And she is a girly girl, but she can be a tomboy.  And she can be a little diva.  She used to put the back of her hand to her forehead while she was sipping on her bottle of formula.  And she is like a high C when she cries.  We are thinking that we will be auditioning her for American Idol in the future.
