Can I MIL Vent???

So I posted a week ago, that we opened our house to my MIL and my dh's Grandmother, after dh's Aunt kicked them out of her house after they all got drunk and had a big ole fight.

They have been here since last Saturday and aren't leaving to go to NY until the 18th (God help us-- 4 more days to endure). They are both drinkers and polished off an entire bottle of wine BEFORE dinner last night-- they are loud, they talk right over the top of you, you can't get a word in edgewise, and I can't even hear myself think, even as I type this, as they are so loud-- from three rooms away.

Dh is grumpy as hell because they are here, and all he wants to do after working 11 hours is come home to peace and quiet, my style and routine are TOTALLY cramped, and we are both going NUTS!!!

What has inspired this post you ask? I keep putting MY dish towels off to the side of the sink (because, duh-- they get wet when you turn on the water in the sink) and five mins later, my MIL comes in and puts MY dish towels back so they are draping over the edge and into the sink. SHE has done this 5 times already just this morning!!!!!!!!

Grrrrrrr.......... Serenity Now!!!!

(now, I'm running away to go Christmas Shopping for many many hours!)

oh-- and I mention that they are both hypochondriacs, who sniff, cough, moan, groan and fart and whine about it all day long. (the other day I had to hear about how dh's grandmother couldn't make it to the bathroom in time, and pooped her pants and had to throw her underwear out-- Seriously-- do I need to know stuff like this???)

Oh boy....that certainly does not sound like an ideal situation. But it is very admirable what you're doing for them! House guests can be difficult even if they're your favorite people in the world...I hope the next few days pass quickly for you. Good luck

Oh no! ?Get out and shop!!! ?That sounds positively terrible. ?We have a house guest (a good friend w/some issues right now) but she's as quiet as a mouse AND cleaned my ceiling fans yesterday while I lounged on the couch!

Shop till you drop today...then stay out for dinner!?
